Irish Poet, Translator and Professor
After earning his Ph.D. at Trinity College in Dublin, Justin Quinn found himself living in Prague with his family, where he lectures at Charles University and the Western Bohemian University in Plzeň. He was the founding editor of the Irish poetry magazine, Metre. He has published seven collections of poems. One of his poems, “‘O’o’a’a’ Bird” was awarded the Forward Poetry Prize. In addition to poetry, he has written two monographs about American poetry and modern Irish poetry. He translates from Czech to English, focusing on the work of Petr Borkovec, Bohuslav Reynek, and Ivan Blatný.
