Technologist, new media creator.
Danielle Tomson is a technologist, new media creator and Ph.D. Candidate in Communications at Columbia Journalism School. Her work and research focuses on political and social polarization online and in civic institutions, and how to overcome it. This research has taken her around the world, including Kosovo, Georgia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Egypt. As a founding team member at Civic Hall, a civic collaboration center in New York City, and as a private consultant, Tomson has helped companies, activists, and government offices come up with technology driven solutions to civic and social problems. Tomson focuses on communicating controversial viewpoints to opposing social and political audiences through writing, new media, documentary and comedy.
