Bohumil Vurm

Medieval Historian and Founder of the Hieronymus Foundation

Bohumil Vurm studies mostly European history, times of Charles IV and the works of Hieronymus Bosch. To mark the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the birth of Charles IV, he and Zuzana Foffova wrote a richly illustrated biography of Charles IV: Knight, Pilgrim and Emperor. It was published in co-operation with The Book Club. Bohumil Vrum is a co-author of the two-part New Encyclopaedia of Czech and Moravian Wine, which won an international competition in Paris in 2006. He also wrote and co-wrote the scripts to exhibitions like Praga Mystica, Beauty and Sectrets of Czech Republic, Vivat Comenius, Lords of Rožmitál and Wine Across Centuries. He’s the chairman of the Hieronymus Foundation, which promotes the works of the Dutch painter, Hieronymus Bosch. He makes speeches for the wider public as well as schools and universities at home and abroad.
