Andrej Borisovic Zubov

Russian Historian, Religious Scholar, and Political Scientist.

Andrej Borisovič Zubov is well known as a historian who currently heads the Department of the History of Religions at the Saint John Russian Orthodox University. As an academic, he is the author of about 150 scholarly paper, several books, and monographs. He previously taught at the Moscow Statue Institute of International Affairs until he was dismissed in 2014 for criticizing Putin’s military intervention in Crimea as being similar to Hitler’s annexation of Austria and Czechoslovak Sudetenland in 1938 in an article entitled, “This Has Already Happened.” Despite vocal support from his colleagues, even those who disagreed with this particular opinion, Zubov was fired from the Institute for “violating the principles of corporate behavior.”
